Award winning jazz vocalist Juliet Dunn lives right here in the Niagara Peninsula. While visiting the region you will find Juliet performing at numerous local venues. Click on Juliet's Current Calendar link for upcoming performances.
Juliet came to live in Niagara in 2002 when she was hired as a singer and actress by the prestigious Shaw Festival Theatre. At Shaw, Juliet performed in numerous productions for their 2002 and 2003 seasons as both a singer and actress, and in 2002 she received the Tony Van Bridge Award for most promising newcomer.
Ever since then, Juliet has made Niagara her home. Here in the region she not only performs as a vocalist but also as an actress with local theatre companies (Carousel Players), is involved in the fitness industry (she teaches Zumba and aerobics), teaches vocal and acting classes as well as volunteering for numerous organizations in the region. She likes to keep herself busy!
Shortly after performing for Shaw, Juliet began to pursue another dream, which was to become a jazz vocalist. She had always loved to sing jazz tunes but had never done so professionally. She began to work with local jazz musicians in 2004 and has since been adding to her repertoire which is continually growing. The past few years have seen her blossom into the jazz singer that she is today, and is the recent winner of the Niagara Music Award's 2009 Jazz Group of the Year.
Her resume boasts several Festivals in the region (Willowbank Jazz Festival, Jazz on the Ridge, Grape and Wine Festival, Folk Arts Festival, Icewine Festival, New Vintage Festival and more), and she has also performed jazz in other countries for extended winter contracts - Morocco, Hong Kong, Brazil and others.
Juliet also performs with the Shea D Duo (with Peter Shea) as well as the Kitt Cat Collective.
Juliet LOVES the Niagara region and all it has to offer, and works with a plethora of fine Niagara musicians. For more information and to hire Juliet and her band(s) please visit her website or email directly to email@example.com
