The Queenston Quarry Trail makes up and extends beyond the Southern terminus of the Bruce Trail. This trail travels through the Quarry and adjacent woodlots, with access at Queenston Heights. The Queenston Quarry has played an important role in the development of the surrounding area. Prior to the opening of a quarry operation, Scottish settlers exploited the limestone beds for building materials The present quarry has been operating continuously for almost 150 years and is one of the oldest quarries in Canada. This trail is well marked, however it does contain some more difficult areas, hiking shoes are strongly recommended.
