Bonnybank Bed and Breakfast
Top: Pink Grimbsy sandstone reclaimed from Great Western Railway in 1936, transformed Bonnybank from a wooden farmhouse; Bottom left: Cedar waiting for your arrival by Vineland's "first picture window"; Bottom centre: Storm coming over the Twenty Valley; Bottom right: Carla's magical night garden
Escape to a lovely 1919 stone Tudor Revival home nestled within The Owl Foundation's Carolinian woodland, on the banks of the Twenty Mile Creek ANSI (Area of Natural and Scientific Interest). Carla "accidently" bought this treasure from Dr. James Gibson, the first president of Brock University where she graduated from Urban and Environmental Studies. Being a Brock graduate makes owning this particular home all the more special for her.
Enjoy the cozy stone fireplace, organic gardens, kayaks and a campfire site. In the winter when Mother Nature cooperates bring your skiis for cross-country skiing, skating and walking the Twenty Mile Creek. Whether under the vast night sky with stars so close you can almost touch them, or during the sunny days of winter, a walk on the creek is exhilarating.
In 1997 Carla, a well known naturalist and environmentalist founded Niagara Nature Tours. With her entourage of over 30 professionals, they offer Wine, Garden, History, Agriculture and Nature Tours based on the geology of the Niagara Peninsula. Founded on Ecotourism priniciples and guidelines, the nature and science programming is tied to arts and culture. Everthing is custom tailored to your needs. Enquire about a private wine tour or programming for a family or corporate gathering in Niagara that would never be forgotten.
